Founded in 2003, Vox Media has two headquarters, one in New York City and one in Washington, D.C., and with the acquisition of Curbed, now owns six brands including The Verge, SB Nation, Polygon, Eater and Racked. The brands range from sports to technology to video games and now real estate, food and fashion.
Curbed was founded in 2004 by Lockhart Steele as a real estate blog. As of 2013, there are a dozen city-specific editions that include New York, the Hamptons, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Atlanta, Chicago, Detriot, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami and Seattle, as well as Curbed National, which interior designer Jonathan Adler describes as a "daily must read."
