West Elm partners with mattress company Casper.com
Jul 7, 2016

Online mattress retailer Casper has teamed up with Williams-Sonoma-owned West Elm to offer mattresses at the furniture and decor company’s brick-and-mortar stores and on westelm.com. Casper, which was founded in 2014 as an online-only retailer, also has showrooms in New York and Los Angeles. It offers six standard-size mattresses, composed of memory and latex foams, with prices starting at $500.

“With Casper as our innovative partner, we are able to provide the ultimate modern retail experience of purchasing a handblocked quilt, midcentury bed and well-engineered mattress all in one convenient shop,” says Jim Brett, West Elm’s president.

Mattresses will be available in all of West Elm’s 77 stores by the end of this month, in addition to its catalog and website. Casper replaces all mattresses currently sold on the site. “I’ll be honest with you: We haven’t really been focused on the mattress business,” Brett tells CNNMoney. “I would rather move faster and partner with someone who really knows the business. The guys at Casper are living and breathing that product. They’re going so much deeper into the category than we typically have.”

Casper.com is crucially important for interacting with our customers, but we’ve found that people love to experience Casper in person as well,” says Philip Krim, the company’s co-founder and CEO. “It’s an incredible opportunity to build upon that demand with West Elm, a partner with a national reputation for great design and innovative partnerships.”
