Job Description

Position Profile:

High execution, showroom based sales position for Edelman Leather, a globally recognized brand, and a Knoll specialty business. This position will be based out of our Los Angeles showroom. This role is responsible for driving and managing territory sales opportunities in residential and commercial market segments through the showroom and by calling on Architectural and Design firms and other business partners as necessary. This is a multi-faceted role with responsibility for sales results, marketing activities and showroom operations.

This position will work closely with the Outside Contract Sales Representative in the territory, sales management and customer service representatives. It is essential to be currently active within the A&D community and have sales experience. Leather experience a plus, but will consider other product-focused sales experience including furniture or textiles.

Sales Responsibilities:
• Drive sales and establish deep relationships in the design community
• Understand client needs and related issues to gain specifications of Edelman Leather
• Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of Edelman Leather products and capabilities
• Present Edelman leather products and capabilities to excite and inspire clients to use leather
• Strengthen Edelman Leather brand within the market and be the point of contact for clients
• Strategic approach working with multiple influencers inside and outside the organizations
• Identify and develop qualified sales leads, monitor and track project opportunities, establish a continuous pipeline of business
• Drive business development with assigned client base and collaborate with other sales representative(s) in the territory
• Manage all sales order procedures including: sample requests, price quotes, final purchase order details, production approvals and tracking for timely shipment and delivery
• Understanding of leather industry vertical markets and ability to navigate decision makers within these markets
• Attend trade shows and industry events as requested
• Provide a single point of contact within the Edelman organization for questions, answers, and project updates by provide timely accurate reporting as required by the leadership team
• May occasionally require overnight travel to potential and existing clients

Showroom responsibilities:
• Maintain overall showroom appearance, product display and sample inventory
• Oversee supply of required marketing materials
• Coordinate showroom events with design center and catering
• Order supplies and schedule repairs

Job Requirements

Required Skills:

• BS or BA degree or equivalent experience
• 3 to 5 years’ sales experience within the Architectural & Design market
• Proven B to B sales track record
• Proficiency with CRM tools or Salesforce and the Microsoft platform
• Organizational and problem-solving with the ability to collaborate and negotiate
• High level of integrity and business ethics
• Leadership with a sense of accountability for the business
• Results oriented, able to set and achieve goals
• Outstanding customer service ability
• Able to prioritize work with timely follow-up and be detail oriented
• Communicates effectively with all levels, in both written and verbal form
