Job Description

Fermob is seeking an industry experienced professional to manage a trade showroom at NYDC opening summer 2017.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of building relationships, excellent customer service and cultivating sales.

The candidate will be able to work independently, with attention to detail and will be motivated to produce sales and represent Fermob professionally in all aspects.

Sales will be primarily to the design trade (designers, specifiers, and architects ) with some retail sales.


Become an expert in product and brand knowledge and appropriate use of products.

Manage the showroom during open hours and some off hours events.

Develop follow up strategy for sales leads.

Guide customers through the quote, sales order and delivery/installation process.

Arrange or assist showroom set-up, showroom redesign, sample loan, and mailing of marketing materials, etc.

Maintain appearance and cleanliness of showroom.

Work with marketing to coordinate showroom events, ICFF, trade or design events.

Job will evolve to include inside sales as well as outside sales/ appointments (2 days per week) which will eventually mean some management of additional part or full time personnel.

Due to seasonality of Fermob, some corporate responsibilities may be assigned.

Job Requirements

Prefer college degree in a creative field, business, or marketing.

Minimum of 3 years’ sales experience in a showroom. Prefer experience with both commercial and residential clients.

French speaking is not required, but is a plus.

Hard working and inspired to meet sales goals and will strategize with corporate office to meet goals.

Active interest in the field of interior design/ aware of design trends.

Responsive to corporate office and customers, flexible and thoughtful.

Good communication skills both written and verbal to customers and corporate office.

Can function well in a time sensitive industry where customers can be demanding.

Compensation will include a base salary ($55,000 estimate depending on experience) plus commission.

Superior presentation skills (lunch and learns)

Computer savvy and has working knowledge of Word, Power Point, and Excel. Has the ability to learn new
software without repeated instruction.
