Job Description

de Gournay, the international purveyor of luxury hand painted wallpapers, is seeking a weekend showroom assistant for their new San Francisco showroom in the Presidio Heights neighborhood.

Applicant must be organized, efficient and enthusiastic with good communication skills. A background in art, art history or interior design recommended and preference will be given to candidates with some additional business knowledge and computer savvy. We are seeking a polished and professional student or recent graduate.

Job Requirements

• Administrative work such as answering phones, meeting clients and designers, mailing and organizing sample requests, deliveries and pick-ups. Working with the Director on whatever projects need to be accomplished.

Telephone: Answering the telephone and transferring calls.

Packages: Preparing and sending info packages for client

Enquiries: Assisting with initial enquiries via telephone or email which can then be passed onto the relevant salesperson.

Digital images: Assisting with preparing presentations and image baskets for clients or meetings

Sampling for Clients: preparing sales materials and samples for meetings. Ordering samples from stock for sales team’s meetings or for their clients.

Loans: Locating available loan panels in the system and arranging loans on behalf of sales team

Sales meetings: Booking sales meetings where requested by sales and ensuring necessary sales materials are there and prompting the sales team to rebook meetings where more than 6 months has expired since the last meeting

Maintaining Global Spreadsheet: Updating global sales spreadsheet with latest information on RSVPs to client events, dates of last meetings, sampling materials in their library etc

Overdue loans: Prompting the sales team to recall overdue loans as the expiry date draws near (this will encourage sales to FOLLOW UP and a more proactive approach)

Delivery dates: Monitoring the delivery dates of products and prompting the sales team to contact clients a few weeks later to ask how the installation went (to encourage after sales support and therefore repeat business)

Keeping reference library up to date: Making sure sales team have the samples they need to show clients and take to meetings-order from SLT-ST if available and otherwise let Elizabeth know so she can order the samples you need

NOTE: This position requires you to be in the showroom each Saturday during opening hours, 10 AM - 6 PM.
