Design-loving teens are invited to attend the West Hollywood Design District's first-ever Designer Camp, taking place July 6 through July 10. Held at the Community Meeting Room, adjacent to the West Hollywood Public Library and facing the Pacific Design Center, the camp will focus on a different aspect of design each day, including interior design, fashion, photography, styling and merchandising. Industry expert talks and visits, workshops and tours will serve as some of the program’s highlights.
Campers will visit the Pacific Design Center and other area hotspots.
Designer Camp Director and Founder Kristen Dees calls the program a “boutique camp experience.” Each day will feature a tour, with the teens visiting the Pacific Design Center as well as select showrooms. The camp will conclude with projects presented by the kids. "The West Hollywood Design District is so supportive. I don’t think I’d be doing this without them," says Dees. "They’re bringing all the key players in and they really have a heart to bring in more youth to the district. So many people want to give back to the youth. There’s such an energy and excitement.”

Designer Camp costs $750 per student, and includes camp tuition, snacks, project materials, and a tote filled with a sketchbook, professional portfolio, and fun, local company-provided goodies. Registration is open to all until July 3. For more information, check out Designer Camp online.
